Project Description

GIZ is a German government-owned organization dedicated to international cooperation for sustainable development. GIZ works with various partners, including governments, civil society organizations, and the private sector, to implement projects and programs in various sectors such as agriculture, energy, health, education, and climate change. GIZ's Drought-Resilient Project in Kenya aimed to enhance the adaptive capacities of vulnerable communities, reducing their susceptibility to drought-induced crises. Recognizing the importance of understanding stakeholder perceptions and gathering meaningful insights, GIZ engaged our team to conduct a comprehensive survey and assessment of their drought-resilient project. The goal was to identify key challenges, measure the project's impact, and propose actionable recommendations for further improvements. Through extensive research and consultation, IRES designed a robust survey methodology and developed tailored data collection tools. The team's expertise in designing effective survey instruments ensured the collection of accurate and relevant data from a diverse range of stakeholders, including local communities, government authorities, NGOs and project implementers.Following data collection, IRES employed rigorous analysis techniques, including statistical analysis and thematic coding, to identify emerging patterns, trends, and key insights. The team carefully examined the data, looking for commonalities, gaps, and opportunities, thus uncovering valuable perspectives from stakeholders involved in the project. Our team developed a comprehensive report that included a detailed analysis of stakeholder perspectives, a measurement of the project's impact, and a clear evaluation of its strengths and weaknesses. In addition, IRES provided actionable recommendations for GIZ and other project stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of the Drought-Resilient Project. GIZ was now able to refine and optimize project design, aligning it more closely with the needs and priorities of local communities. The assessment of stakeholder perceptions shed light on previously unidentified challenges and opportunities, enabling GIZ to implement targeted interventions that addressed community concerns effectively. The survey facilitated enhanced engagement and collaboration among stakeholders involved in the Drought-Resilient Project. By actively involving local communities, government authorities, and NGOs, GIZ fostered a sense of ownership and empowerment. This approach ensured the project's sustainability and encouraged the active participation of stakeholders in its implementation and monitoring.
