INTRODUCTION
This course will enable you conduct a rigorous impact evaluation of a development policy, programme or intervention by studying practical overviews of the major techniques for impact evaluation with focus on the design, execution, analysis, and interpretation of randomized field experiments. This course covers all aspects of planning, designing and implementing of impact evaluation.

Researchers, teachers, and consumers of impact evaluation and will provide opportunities for discussion of practical issues in implementing each of these techniques.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By the end of the course participant(s) should be able to:
- Learn about theories and practices of impact evaluation
- Learn about evaluation problem: Attribution, selection and placement biases
- Understand Impact Evaluation designs: randomized, quasi and non-experimental
- Conduct a rigorous impact evaluation of a project
- Conduct sampling and power calculation
- Learn and practice econometric techniques for impact evaluation
- Carry out impact data analysis using Propensity Matching and Difference-in -Difference
- Report and disseminate impact evaluation findings
- to equip the participants with adequate skills to conduct rigorous impact evaluations for their interventions
- Report and share findings of relevance stakeholders
METHODOLOGY
The instructor led trainings are delivered using a blended learning approach and comprise of presentations, guided sessions of practical exercise, web-based tutorials and group work. Our facilitators are seasoned industry experts with years of experience, working as professional and trainers in these fields.
All facilitation and course materials will be offered in English. The participants should be reasonably proficient in English.
ACCREDITATION
Upon successful completion of this training, participants will be issued with an Indepth Research Institute(IRES) certificate certified by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA).
TRAINING VENUE
The training will be held at IRES Training Centre. The course fee covers the course tuition, training materials, two break refreshments and lunch.
All participants will additionally cater for their, travel expenses, visa application, insurance, and other personal expenses.
