Course Level:

Course Objectives

  • Familiarize participants with the EViews software: The course introduces participants to the EViews interface, workspace, and various tools available within the software. Participants will become comfortable navigating through EViews and accessing its features.
  • Understand data management in EViews: Participants will learn how to import different types of data into EViews, manipulate and clean data, and organize datasets effectively. They will also explore data transformation techniques and handle missing data.
  • Learn essential statistical and econometric techniques: The course covers fundamental statistical concepts and econometric methods used in data analysis. Participants will gain knowledge about descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, time series analysis, and panel data analysis.
  • Build and estimate econometric models: Participants will learn how to construct and estimate econometric models using EViews. They will understand the steps involved in model specification, estimation, and evaluation. The course covers various regression models, such as ordinary least squares (OLS), generalized least squares (GLS), and instrumental variable (IV) regression.
  • Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results: Participants will acquire skills in conducting diagnostic tests to assess the validity and reliability of their econometric models. They will learn how to interpret the results of these tests and make informed decisions based on the diagnostic outcomes.
  • Develop forecasting models: The course provides participants with the knowledge and tools to build forecasting models using EViews. They will learn different forecasting techniques and evaluate the accuracy of their forecasts.
  • Generate informative graphs and reports: Participants will explore the graphical capabilities of EViews to create visually appealing and informative graphs. They will also learn how to generate reports and export results for further analysis or presentation.
