Data Analysis and Management
- Data Management, Analysis, and Graphics using STATA
- 02.09.2013 - 05.09.2013

- Data Management and Analysis
This training specifically deals with management, analysis and graphing of quantitative data using STATA. The training combines theoretical foundations with methodological perspectives, aiming at equiping participants with knowledge on use of quantitative data in social research using STATA.
Stata is a complete, integrated statistical package that provides everything you need for data analysis, data management, and graphics.
The five days training also explore on the quantitative data gathering tools with particular focus on emerging tools for rapid data gathering such as mobile data gathering, SMS Surveys and Online surveys.Participants will be guided through practical exercises on the use of CSPro a software tool used for entering, editing, tabulating, mapping, and disseminating census and survey data.
FOR WHOM IS THE TRAINING RELEVANT
This intermediate course in STATA is suitable for Researchers, Data Analysts, Statisticians, Policy Analyst, Data Managers, Economists, Community Development Practitioners, Clinical and Health Workers, Nutritionist, Monitoring and Evaluation Practioners, Food Security and Livelihood practioners, Research Student, Program Managers and executives who use or intend to use STATA as a tool to analyse the data they collect in their organisations
The participants are required to have a good command of the English language and reasonable computing skills. Prior knowledge in STATA and Statistics is an added advantage but not a compulsory requirement
The class size is limited to 10 participants to ensure that each participants has the opportunity to interact with the facilitator. The training may be cancelled if there are less than five participants.
